Aside from the hilarity surrounding achievement obsessions, The Talos Principle doesn't even HAVE leaderboards, and the Steam version of Serious Sam 2 was simply the retail version stripped of the DVD copy protection - no achievements, no leaderboards, in fact, I believe there's no working multiplayer any more either. Their claim - which I don't have the quote to hand for - was that DRM-free didn't have achievements or leaderboards, which supposedly essentially made it pointless to release. I was just going to point out Croteam's remarkably childish attitude about this. "Īlso keep in mind that Croteam implemented their own DRM on Serious Sam 3 and Talos Principles to make them unplayable without Steam. But as the situation is now, even if they had the API comparable to Steam, it wouldn't be worth the development time, since their market share is much lower. "if GoG supported Steam keys, they would be selling Talos now. Just my opinion :o) Never played Serious Sam 3 - The DRM Infection, so no idea on that. However, you can still hear their idle roars in the background if you.

Two Ugh-Zans can be seen in the original trailer of Serious Sam 2 in the final level, however, in the PC version, they became replaced with the Mental Institution. Needless, just need a backdrop, a large area and swarms of bulls making you crap yourself every 2 minutes. In the PC version of Serious Sam 1, Ugh-Zan has no fingers, while in the Xbox version of Serious Sam 1 he does. Not that story is particularly necessary in these, I felt 2 had too much of one, too invasive, that having to go to X to save square shaped dudes from round shaped dudes. The only interesting idea was the balls you get in to run things over with, other than that the weapons felt more like toys, charge up your pew pew gun for instance.

I can't give an exact estimate on how long it takes to complete in total, but it is actually quite a long Serious Sam game in general. Its a bit of a misconception that better graphics = better game. Average Level length seemed to be around 7 to 12 minutes, some only 3 to 5 minutes, and the last level usually took about 30-45 minutes (par time is like 2 hours for that level alone). If you're a gamer that strives to see all aspects of the game, you are likely to spend around 14 Hours to obtain 100 completion. As you say, the second one had better graphics, but to my mind that detracted from the basic premise of the genre, in the first I could see bad guys a mile away, in this half the time I couldn't see them in front of me due to the wonderfully graphic heavy grass and foliage everywhere. When focusing on the main objectives, Serious Sam 2 is about 10 Hours in length. All SS games are cartoonish, but I don't see where SS 2 is that much more childish than other SS games. Shaboo_de: Actually, I prefer SS 2 over SS FE and SS SE - better graphics, much more variety and less tiring because of fewer enemies.
